Credit control in Business Central, shaped to your rules
Orders should not ship to customers who are already over their credit limit. Describe how your Finance team wants to handle it. AppoGen designs the extension with you first.
The problem
Finance often finds out about an over-limit customer after the goods have gone. The credit position is in one place and the order is in another. Each team handles exceptions differently, and nobody records why an order was released.
How an extension helps
An extension can check the credit position when an order is released, and act on the result. It can stop the order, send it to a named approver, and record who decided and why. Your own rules matter here: which customers, which limit, who can override, and what happens to partly shipped orders. The design must say each one.
How AppoGen handles the request
You describe the rule in plain words, with the roles involved. The wizard asks for a role and user count.
We write the need down as a requirements document, and ask about every unclear case. You approve it.
We check how standard Business Central handles credit limits and say what already fits.
You review the storyboard. It shows today's steps next to the new steps, with who does what and the benefit. You comment on any scene and approve one version.
You get a quote from the size of the approved design. Approvals and anything that touches posting make a job larger.
We build, test and review. Tested against your acceptance criteria, reviewed by a separate AI reviewer that did not write it.
Sandbox first. You test it there, and production follows once you accept.
What you receive
A requirements document, a storyboard, a functional document, a training manual for Finance and sales order processors, and the installed extension.
An example
Suppose Finance wants orders over a customer's limit sent to a credit controller. The design would check the credit position at release. It would route the order to a named approver and release it when approved. It would record the decision and reason, with a report of held orders. It is a standard-size job with an approval and a touch on posting. This is an illustration, not a delivered app.
Questions
Can I set different limits for different customers?
The design can describe that. You approve the exact rules before the build.
Will it block posting?
Only if your approved design says so. The storyboard and functional document spell it out.
What if standard credit-limit warnings are enough?
We tell you honestly if a standard feature fits.
Is my live customer data used to design it?
No. We design and test with the CRONUS sample company.
What if our rules change?
Open the released app, describe the change, review a storyboard of the change and pay for the difference.
What does it cost?
Simple extensions usually cost USD 2,000 to 5,000, standard ones USD 5,000 to 12,000 and advanced ones USD 12,000 to 20,000 See the price breakdown in plain words before you accept.
